BCB official dies of heart attack while on duty at Sylhet Test
Md. Ikram Chowdhury, who was serving as the Security Coordinator at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, died of a heart attack during the opening Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. He was 50 years old.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (April 23), the fourth day of the Sylhet Test. While carrying out his duties at the stadium in the morning, Ikram suddenly became ill. He was promptly taken to the nearby Al Haramain Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed profound grief over the passing of Md. Ikram Chowdhury. In an official statement, the board said it is deeply saddened by the loss of Ikram, who served as the Security Coordinator at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The BCB also offered its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his family.
Ikram had been involved with the Bangladesh Cricket Board since 2009 and had been serving as the Security Liaison Officer at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium since 2014. His untimely death has cast a pall of grief over the Sylhet sporting community.
