Amid widespread speculation that he might leave the country, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul was seen at the BCB office at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

Bulbul was seen at the office between 10:30am and 11:00am, walking around the stadium grounds before attending to official duties.

The speculation began Sunday evening, with reports suggesting he was traveling to Australia or had already left. Several BCB directors later clarified that he remains in Bangladesh. Bulbul himself had assured reporters that he had no plans to travel abroad.

On Monday, Bulbul appeared at the BCB office, walking around the stadium grounds before participating in regular official duties.

Since assuming office for a full term, Bulbul has faced a challenging period. Bangladesh withdrew from the ICC T20 World Cup in India over security concerns, but the ICC rejected BCB’s appeal and included Scotland in Bangladesh’s place.

Internal turmoil has also affected the board, with one director resigning from the audit committee over match-fixing allegations, and another director, Ishtiaq Sadek, stepping down.

The president’s appearance at the BCB office on Monday appears to have temporarily quelled rumors of his departure amid these ongoing controversies.
