After weeks of speculation, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has returned to the country.

He arrived in Dhaka from Sydney via a Singapore Airlines flight late Saturday night (March 28), BCB directors confirmed.

Board officials had previously stated that he planned to spend Eid with his family in Australia and return around March 26–27, though delays fueled speculation among cricket enthusiasts.

His arrival comes amid scrutiny over the controversial BCB elections held last October, which some Dhaka clubs and district-level sports councilors have alleged were opaque and influenced by government intervention.

In response, the National Sports Council formed a five-member inquiry committee, led by a retired judge, to review the election process.

The committee is expected to submit its findings within 15 working days, likely in early April.

Bulbul is expected to meet with the investigation committee in the coming days while continuing to oversee BCB operations. His testimony will be a key component in evaluating the transparency and conduct of the previous election.
