BCB President Bulbul leaves country
Aminul Islam Bulbul, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has left the country. He departed Dhaka for Melbourne, Australia on Monday afternoon, February 16, to spend time with his family. A BCB source has confirmed the matter.
Bulbul is expected to return to the country within about a week. He has informed BCB directors via text message to continue the work of their respective committees as usual. He will remain active online from Australia while abroad.
BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury told local media, "Bulbul bhai has gone abroad for family reasons. We hope he will return within the next few weeks after spending time with his family in Australia."
The Bangladesh team is not playing in the ongoing T20 World Cup. However, due to Bangladesh's decision not to play on Indian soil citing security concerns, the BCB had to maintain continuous communication with the ICC, PCB and other concerned parties. Although Bangladesh requested to host their matches in Sri Lanka, the ICC ultimately rejected their demand and instead included Scotland in the World Cup.
