BCBL Bankers Futsal Championship 2026 inaugurated by Bankers' Club

The 'BCBL Bankers Futsal Championship 2026', organised to promote sports, camaraderie, and inter-bank relations among professionals in the country's banking sector, was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon, June 13, at the Bashundhara Sports City in the capital.

The tournament was organised by the Bankers' Club of Bangladesh Limited (BCBL) .

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque was the chief guest at the event and formally inaugurated the competition. In his speech, he welcomed the initiative by the Bankers' Club to improve the standard of sports in the country and urged for such events to be continued regularly .

The minister said that sports-based events can play an important role in fostering a healthy lifestyle, work ethic, and mutual harmony among busy bankers. He described such competitions as an effective initiative to build a united and vibrant banking community.

BCBL President Md Rashed Akter expressed gratitude to all participating teams, players, sponsors, and those involved in organising the tournament. He said such events will play an important role in developing good relations and a sports culture among bankers, and expressed hope that the competition will be held regularly every year .

Club General Secretary Rashid-Un-Nabi said the tournament has been organised to foster brotherhood, cooperation, and mutual communication among professionals in the country's banking sector. It will create opportunities to build closer relationships with one another through sports outside the workplace.

Sports Secretary Mahmudul Hasan Rana and Tournament Convening Committee Member Secretary Khairul Hasan briefed attendees on the overall organisation, participating teams, and match schedules, seeking everyone's cooperation for a successful event.

Managing directors, additional managing directors, deputy managing directors, senior executives, team managers, captains, players, and various levels of bank officials from different banks across the country were present at the inauguration.

Organisers said the 'BCBL Bankers Futsal Championship 2026' will serve as an important platform for developing leadership, teamwork, health awareness, and inter-institutional relations among banking sector professionals. They expressed hope that the tournament will further strengthen positive competition and friendly relations among bankers.
