BD women's cricket team crushes Pakistan in final
Bangladesh women's cricket team is showing a great performance in the Rising Stars Asia Cup. After remaining unbeaten in the group stage, the team led by captain Fahima Khatun has secured a ticket to the final by defeating Pakistan women's team by a huge margin of 54 runs in the semi-finals.
After losing the toss, Bangladesh batted first and scored 110 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. The captain's innings came to the highest score of 42 runs, including 5 fours in a 32-ball innings. Sharmin Sultana scored 15, Shamima Sultana 13 and opener Ishma Tanzim scored 12 runs.
Chasing a target of 111 runs, Pakistan were all out for just 56 runs in 16.4 overs due to the dominance of Bangladeshi bowlers. Shawal Zulfikar scored the highest score of 14, Hafsa 12 and Yusra Amir scored 11 runs.
For Bangladesh, Fahima Khatun took 2 wickets, Sanjida Akhtar Meghla 2 wickets. Faria Trishna, Fatema Jahan and Farzana Yasmin took 1 wicket each.
Pakistan's Hafsa Khalid took 2 wickets, Wahida Akhtar, Momina Riasat, Anosha Nasir and Omaima Sohel took 1 wicket each.
Tomorrow, Sunday, the Bangladesh women's team will face the powerful Indian women's cricket team in the title-deciding final. India has secured its ticket to the final by defeating Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the first semi-final of the day.
The final will be held at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok at 1pm Bangladesh time.
