BFF forms committee to shortlist candidates for men’s head coach
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has formed a four-member committee to review applications for the appointment of the new head coach of the senior men’s national team.
A federation official said around 300 CVs have been submitted following a recent recruitment circular. The current head coach, Javier Cabrera, is expected to conclude his four-year tenure at the end of this month.
To streamline the selection process, the committee will prepare a shortlist of candidates before forwarding it to the National Teams Committee for further evaluation and interviews. The panel is led by Technical Committee Chairman Kamrul Hasan Hilton and includes former footballers Syed Hasan Kanan and Iqbal Hossain, along with Technical Director Saiful Bari Titu.
Hilton confirmed that the committee will complete its review within the week and submit the shortlisted names for the next phase of selection.
Meanwhile, the BFF executive committee recently met but did not discuss the head coach appointment due to time constraints.
The federation is also in the process of recruiting a goalkeeping coach and a youth team coach.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play a friendly match against San Marino on June 5.
