Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has expressed strong objection to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Asif Akbar’s controversial remarks on football.

BFF President Tabith Awal said they will formally convey their protest to BCB via a letter, though they prefer not to escalate the issue publicly.

Asif made the comments during a BCB cricket conference, claiming footballers are damaging wickets and occupying stadiums nationwide.

He also compared cricket as a “discipline and elite sport” and called football “chaotic from the start,” adding, “If football fights, I will fight too.”

His remarks stem from a schedule clash between cricket and football matches at Bhasha Shoinik Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium, Cumilla.

He had urged BCB to coordinate with BFF through the National Sports Council to avoid such conflicts.
