Bhutanese PM meets President
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, who is on a state visit to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on President Md Shahabuddin.
The meeting took place at Bangabhaban on Sunday. As part of his three-day state visit to Dhaka, the Bhutanese prime minister arrived at Bangabhaban this afternoon, where the President received him. The two leaders then held a formal discussion in the Credential Hall.
Highlighting the “friendly” relations between the two nations, President Shahabuddin said that bilateral ties would deepen further in the future.
He expressed hope that cooperation between Bangladesh and Bhutan would strengthen in the fields of trade, commerce, hydropower, education and healthcare.
The Bhutanese prime minister thanked Bangladesh for increasing the number of seats for Bhutanese students in medical colleges and reserving seats in engineering universities.
He praised Bangladesh’s development and progress and expressed hope that relations between the two countries would continue to grow in the coming days.
