Blast rocks US embassy in Saudi Arabia
An attack has occurred at the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, March 3. The Saudi Ministry of Defence has confirmed the information.
Initial reports said two drones struck the embassy, causing a massive explosion and fire at the building.
Witnesses reported seeing black smoke rising from the diplomatic quarter in Riyadh and hearing loud explosions.
In a post on social media platform X, the Saudi ministry said the attack caused minor damage to the embassy.
The attack is the latest on US consulates in the Middle East amid ongoing military tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel. Earlier on Monday, attacks also occurred at US embassies in Kuwait and Jordan.
The United States has said it will give a strong response to the attack in Saudi Arabia.
