BNP alleges false video circulated using Mirza Fakhrul’s fake voice
The BNP has alleged that a fake video is being circulated online using an imitation of its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s voice. The party urged people not to be misled by such fabricated content.
In a statement issued to the media late on Saturday, November 1, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “A distorted video has been released using old footage and edited remarks, and in some cases, artificial intelligence technology has been used to mimic the BNP Secretary General’s voice. The video falsely claims that the BNP has finalised the list of parliamentary candidates for the 13th National Election. This is entirely baseless and fabricated.”
The statement further said that certain ill-intentioned groups are spreading these fictitious videos using the BNP Secretary General’s name and photo to create confusion among the public. The party urged citizens, its leaders, activists, and nomination seekers not to be deceived by such manipulated content.
