BNP candidate Badsha wins by-election in Bogura

BNP candidate Rezaul Karim Badsha has won the 13th Jatiya Sangsad by-election in Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency by a huge margin, according to unofficial results.

District BNP president Badsha received 133,931 votes under the paddy sheaf symbol. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abidur Rahman Sohel, received 57,159 votes under the scales symbol.

This information was given in the unofficial results announced by the office of the Senior District Election Officer and Returning Officer at around 9:30pm on Thursday (April 9).

Earlier, voting began at 7:30am through ballots. Voting ended at 4:30pm.

Voting was held at a total of 150 centers in Bogra-6 constituency. Voting was held at a total of 151 centers, including postal ballots.

The total number of voters in this constituency is 454,043. According to the information from the office of the Senior District Election Officer and Returning Officer, 42.49 percent of the votes (excluding postal ballots) were cast. And 42.58 percent of the votes were cast including postal ballots.
