Tensions and violence have occurred around polling stations in two constituencies of Bogura. On the one hand, a Jamaat-e-Islami leader has been detained on charges of illegally entering the center. On the other hand, allegations have been made against Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists of stabbing a Chhatra Dal leader. In such a situation, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations are guarding the center at night to prevent vote theft.

A person named Nasirul Islam was detained on charges of illegally entering the Bhandari Girls' High School polling station in the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency at 10pm on Wednesday. He is the secretary of Ward No. 2 Jamaat of Bogura Municipality.

Sources said that 10 to 15 Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists illegally entered the Bhandari Girls' High School polling station at night. Nasirul Islam was arrested in a mobile court operation after receiving information at that time. The operation was conducted by Executive Magistrate of Bogura District Administration Palash Chandra Sarkar.

Nasirul Islam claimed that he had gone to the center to submit a list of polling agents.

The same night, Chhatra Dal leader Milan Mia was stabbed in front of the Hotiarpara polling center in Dhunat upazila of Bogura-5 (Sherpur-Dhunat) constituency. The incident occurred around 9:15 pm. Milan is the president of Dhunat Degree College unit of Chhatra Dal. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Dhunat Upazila Health Complex.

Local BNP leaders and activists alleged that 10 to 15 leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir suddenly attacked Milan and stabbed him. They claimed that it was a planned attack.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Dhunat Police Station Shahjahan Ali said that no one has been arrested in the incident so far. A written complaint has not been received at the police station. It could not be confirmed who carried out the attack.

On the other hand, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations are guarding polling stations across the district to prevent vote theft.

Upazila Chhatra Dal President Abdullah Choton said that polling stations in Shajahanpur of Bogura-7 (Shajahanpur-Gabatoli) constituency are being guarded at night.

He also said that the centers are being guarded out of fear that Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists will enter the centers at night and steal votes.

Hossain Ali, General Secretary of the Bogura town Committee of the Volunteer Dal, said, "We will return home with victory by guarding the polling stations at night. Our opposition has planned to vote at night. No matter what, we must stop them."
