BNP to meet with Election Commission in the afternoon
BNP is holding a meeting with the Election Commission on Sunday (February 9) afternoon to learn about the preparations for the national parliamentary elections.
A three-member delegation led by party standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan will go to the Election Commission building at 3:30 pm today at Agargaon in the capital.
BNP standing committee members Salah Uddin Ahmed and Selima Rahman will also be in the delegation.
Salah Uddin Ahmed told the media, “We are going to find out what stage the preparations for the national elections are at and what the commission is doing in this regard. We will talk to the commission on various issues including the reform of the electoral law. We also have some proposals regarding the elections, which we will inform the commission about.”
The new Election Commission led by AMM Nasir Uddin took office on November 21 last year. Today's meeting will be BNP's first meeting with the new commission.
