Bogura records 38.55% vote cast in seven seats by noon
Voter cast in Bogura’s seven parliamentary constituencies reached an average of 38.55 percent as of 12:00pm on Thursday (February 12), according to data from the district administration and the returning officer’s office.
Officials said female voters turned out in higher numbers during the morning hours, while male participation increased gradually as the day advanced.
A visit to Gondogram Government Primary School polling centre in Shahjahanpur under Bogura-7 (Shahjahanpur-Gabtoli) around 11:00am found more polling agents and supporters of candidates present than voters. Voter Abdul Malek said he had anticipated longer queues but experienced no delay in casting his ballot.
At Majhira Government Primary School centre in Shahjahanpur Upazila around 12:30pm, supporters of candidates were seen near the main entrance. Compared to earlier in the day, voter presence appeared to have declined slightly, though party representatives expressed optimism that turnout would increase in the afternoon.
Presiding Officer Md Tarek Rahman of Majhira Model Government Primary School centre said the polling station has 4,126 registered voters. By 11:30am, a total of 1,583 ballots had been cast, with women voters outnumbering men during that period.
Polling began at 7:30am and is scheduled to continue until 4:30pm. Across Bogura’s seven constituencies, 983 polling centres have been set up for 2,981,982 registered voters.
