Bogura Theatre Poribar, Dhaka: Inauguration and cultural evening
Bogura Theatre Poribar, Dhaka, inaugurated its new executive committee at a ceremony, followed by a cultural performance titled 'Natya Sutre Badha'.
The programme was held on Friday, September 26 at the Silk Hall of the Centre for Cultural Development in Paribagh, Dhaka. Guests included Shah Alam, Programme Secretary of the Group Theatre Federation; Asadullah Farazi, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Gram Theatre; Sayeed Rinku, Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Gram Theatre; Dr Sayedur Rahman Lipon, Chairman of the Department of Theatre at Rabindra University of Creative Arts; Tuhin Chowdhury, General Secretary of Dhaka Theatre; and Bogura Theatre’s Joint Convenors Rubel Lodi and Anisur Rahman Kabir.
Speeches were delivered by senior member Shanto Mahmud, Convenor Julfikar Hussain Sohag, Joint Convenors Mahmudul Hasan Mithen and Nazrul Islam Jony, Member-Secretary Fazlul Haque Saki, Joint Member-Secretary Sijul Islam, Al Kubrun Nahar Kosmik, Bulbul Ahmed Joy, and Firoz Ahmed.
At the event, a special publication edited by Saju Ahmed and Mahmudul Hasan Mithen was unveiled. Performances included excerpts from three plays by Bogura Theatre and one by College Theatre Bogura, featuring actors Rubel Lodi, Soma Farha Mumu, Lenin Firozi, Mahin Mohanto, Alok Pal, Dipaboli Mukherjee, Julfikar Hussain Sohag, Hannan Shah, and Mahmudul Hasan Mithen.
The cultural segment also featured renowned tabla player Poushram Sarker, flautist Nirjhar Adhikari, Fazlul Haque Saki, Oishi Roy, Julfikar Hussain Sohag and his troupe, as well as members of Team Onnyorokom — Alok Pal, Sobhanie Bappi, Bayejid Nibir, Sanaur Rahman, and Robiul Karim.
