Bosnia and Herzegovina hold a 2-1 lead over Qatar at half-time in their World Cup group match, with the European side taking control through two crucial goals.

Edin Dzeko opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a clinical finish, before Miralem Pjanic doubled the lead in the 34th minute from a set-piece.

Qatar pulled one back just before the break, with Almoez Ali converting a penalty in the 42nd minute to keep the hosts in the match.

Statistics showed Bosnia were ahead in possession and chance creation, with their quick passing and wing play repeatedly troubling Qatar's defence. Qatar, after a slow start, improved after conceding but their finishing and decision-making in the final third remained poor.

Qatar will need to score quickly in the second half to get back into the match, while Bosnia will look to strengthen their defence and hit on the counter-attack.
