BPL 12th edition kicks off today in Sylhet
Sylhet sets the stage as the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) gets underway today, marking the start of another high-octane T20 season.
The opening match will see hosts Sylhet Titans take on Rajshahi Warriors, with the tournament final scheduled for January 23 in Dhaka.
The 2025–26 BPL will feature a total of 34 matches across three venues—Sylhet, Chattogram and Dhaka. After the opening leg in Sylhet, the league will move to Chattogram before returning to the capital for the final phase.
All playoff matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The Eliminator and first Qualifier will be played on January 19, followed by the second Qualifier on January 21. The title clash will take place on January 23, with reserve days kept in place for the playoff fixtures.
Six teams are competing this season: Dhaka Capitals, Sylhet Titans, Chattogram Royals, Rangpur Riders, Rajshahi Warriors and Noakhali Express.
Fans can expect double-headers on most matchdays as the league rolls through its venue-based schedule, promising packed stadiums, intense rivalries and a month-long battle for T20 supremacy. With Sylhet hosting the curtain-raiser, the BPL begins its latest chapter under the spotlight—ready for another fast, fierce and festive season of cricket.
