BPL auction: List of 403 domestic and foreign cricketers published

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction is going to be held on November 30. On Thursday (November 27), the BPL Governing Council published the list of a total of 403 cricketers for the auction.

There are 158 local cricketers on the list, whose draft has been prepared in six categories while 245 foreign cricketers have registered, who have been divided into five categories.

Among the local cricketers, Tanjid Hasan Tamim, Naeem Sheikh and Liton Das are in the 'A' category. Their base price has been set at Tk50 lakh, where the price will increase by Tk5 lakh with each draft call. There are 15 cricketers in the 'B' category, whose base price has been set at Tk35 lakh.

Among the foreign cricketers, the maximum number of players have registered from Sri Lanka—50 while 45 cricketers from Pakistan, 3 from India, 6 from Ireland and 18 from Afghanistan have registered for the auction.

Before the BPL auction, franchises can directly sign at least one or a maximum of two foreign cricketers. At least two foreign cricketers must be bought from the auction. The maximum cost for each 4 foreign cricketers is 350,000 US dollars. However, after the auction, franchises can sign more foreign cricketers as they wish.
