Brazil make 2 changes for crucial clash against Haiti
Brazil have named two changes in their starting lineup for the important FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C match against Haiti. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has made the adjustments as the five-time world champions look for a victory at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Brazil drew 1-1 with Morocco in their opening match of the tournament. Although Vinicius Junior scored to rescue a point, Ancelotti was not fully satisfied with the team’s overall performance, which is reflected in today’s team selection.
In defence, experienced full-back Danilo has replaced Roger Ibañez. In attack, Matheus Cunha has been given the nod ahead of Igor Thiago.
Brazil currently sit third in Group C with just one point. A win against Haiti is essential for the Selecao to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.
Neymar remains unavailable for the starting lineup due to injury. Although he has returned to training with the squad, Ancelotti has decided not to take any risks as the superstar is not yet fully fit.
On the other hand, Haiti, ranked outside the world’s top 80, suffered a 0-1 defeat to Scotland in their first match. This game is equally vital for them if they are to stay alive in the tournament.
Brazil’s starting XI: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, Douglas Santos; Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães, Lucas Paquetá; Raphinha, Matheus Cunha, Vinicius Junior.
