Brazil have reclaimed their position as the highest-scoring team in World Cup history after a commanding 3-0 victory over Haiti in Philadelphia, moving ahead of Germany in the all-time goal chart.

The five-time world champions entered the match with 238 World Cup goals, just behind Germany’s 239 after their recent scoring surge. However, Brazil’s clinical display against Haiti pushed them to 241 total goals, restoring their place at the top of the historical rankings.

Goals from Matheus Cunha, who netted twice, and Vinícius Júnior secured the comfortable win for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who dominated proceedings throughout the Group C clash.

Germany had briefly overtaken Brazil after a 7-1 win over Curaçao earlier in the tournament, lifting their tally to 239. But Brazil’s response ensured they regained the lead in the historic scoring race between the two football powerhouses.

Beyond the record, the result also strengthened Brazil’s position at the top of Group C on goal difference, edging ahead of Morocco despite both sides being level on points.

Brazil will face Scotland in their final group match on June 24 in Miami, while Germany are set to meet Ivory Coast in their next fixture.
