Brazil secures first-ever win over Senegal in 2–0 friendly triumph
Brazil clinched a historic 2–0 victory over Senegal in an international friendly at London’s Emirates Stadium, marking their first win against the African champions.
The Seleção struck twice in the first half. Rising star Estevão opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a powerful left-footed finish after a deflection from Casemiro’s through ball. Casemiro then doubled the lead in the 35th minute, calmly slotting home from close range after controlling a pinpoint free-kick delivered by Rodrygo.
Brazil dominated the contest, producing 14 shots with six on target, while Senegal managed only one attempt on goal from their 11 efforts. The win ends Brazil’s run of five matches without a victory over African opposition, including defeats against Senegal in 2022 and 2023.
The result also gives head coach Carlo Ancelotti his fourth win in seven matches in charge. Brazil will next face Tunisia in another international friendly on Tuesday.
