Brazil has once again reached the final of the Women’s Copa America, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Uruguay in the semifinals. It seems almost automatic for Brazil to make it to the final in this tournament. Every edition of the competition sees Brazil advance, as if it's their natural place. This time, they made it to the final with an easy win over Uruguay in the ongoing Women's Copa America in Ecuador.

With this victory, Brazil has reached the final in all 10 editions of the tournament. In the previous 9 finals, Brazil claimed the title 8 times, with their only loss coming in 2006 when Argentina defeated them. That remains Argentina’s only championship, meaning all the titles in the tournament’s history have been shared between Brazil and Argentina.

On Wednesday, Brazil took a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime in the second semifinal in Quito, Ecuador. The match became even more favorable for Brazil after Uruguay's Yamila Dorneles was shown a red card in the 58th minute, leaving Uruguay with just 10 players. Brazil capitalized on this advantage, scoring two more goals in the 65th and 89th minutes to seal their victory.

Brazil's goals were scored by Amanda Gutiérrez (11th and 65th minutes), Giovanna (13th minute), Marta (27th minute, from a penalty), and Duda (86th minute). Uruguay's sole goal came in the form of an own goal by Brazil's Isadora Haas in the 51st minute, a mishap that gifted Uruguay a consolation goal.

On Friday, Brazil will face Colombia in the final in Quito. Colombia earned their spot after defeating Argentina in a penalty shootout on Tuesday.
