In the FIFA rankings, Brazil and Morocco are closely placed. The Selecao are in sixth place, while the African side are seventh. The two teams will begin their World Cup Group C campaign at the New Jersey Stadium in New York at 4:00 am Bangladesh time on Sunday, June 14. Brazil will take the field as the expected favourite, but Morocco, who have lost just two matches since 2023, will not surrender easily.

Fans believe Brazil are ahead in the race for victory, while Morocco are also capable of springing a surprise. In their most recent meeting in 2023, Morocco defeated Brazil. However, according to the supercomputer Opta Analyst's prediction, Brazil are ahead.

After 25,000 pre-match simulations, the Opta supercomputer said Brazil's chance of winning is 57.7 per cent, while Morocco's chance of taking three points is only 18.8 per cent. The probability of a draw is 23.5 per cent.

The two teams are meeting for the second time in the World Cup. In 1998, Brazil faced Morocco in the group stage on their way to the final. Ronaldo and Rivaldo scored in a 3-0 victory. Additionally, Brazil have historically been dominant against African opponents, winning seven of their eight World Cup meetings against African teams, with their only loss coming against Cameroon in the group stage of the last edition.
