British envoy lauds Bangladesh diplomat's cultural work in Kolkata
The British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata has praised a Bangladeshi diplomat's efforts in promoting arts and culture in the city.
Dr Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Kolkata (East & North East India), made the remarks while addressing the exclusive launch of a heritage calendar in the city on Friday, January 23.
He referred to Tarique Choyon, the First Secretary (Press) at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, as a friend and noted his active role in promoting arts, literature, culture, and heritage in the city, much like his colleagues in Delhi.
The event celebrated Kolkata's architecture and cultural legacy. The calendar, described by organisers as a tribute to the city's timeless structures, was launched at a programme aimed at celebrating the soul of Kolkata through art and heritage.
