Broadband Expo 2026 to be held for first time from April 13-15

The 'Broadband Expo 2026' is going to be organised for the first time in the country. The exhibition, to be held in the capital from April 13 to 15, will highlight the development, innovation and future potential of the broadband sector.

The expo will feature detailed discussions and displays on the current state, technological advancements and future plans of the country's broadband sector at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.

The event is being organised by the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB). A press conference was held at the ISPAB office in Banani on Saturday, April 11, in this regard.

The theme of this year's expo is 'Linking People, Linking Future'.

ISPAB President Mohammad Aminul Hakim, General Secretary Nazmul Karim Khan, Vice President CRM Haque Khan, Joint Secretaries Mahbub Alam Raju and Fuad Mohammad Sharafuddin, Treasurer Moin Uddin Ahmed, and directors Rashedur Rahman Rajan, Md Mithu Hawlader, Sabbir Ahmed, Raisul Islam Tuhin, Md Zubayer Islam and S M Saiful Islam Selim, along with other officials and sponsor representatives, were present at the press conference.

Organisers said Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan MP will be present as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony on April 13. Prime Minister's Adviser Rehan A Asad, Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Abdun Naser Khan and BTRC Chairman Major General (retd) Emdad Ul Bari will be present as special guests.

The closing ceremony of the expo will be held on April 15. Posts, Telecommunications and IT Minister Fakhrul Mahbub Anam MP will be present as chief guest. Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Abdus Salam, ICT Division Secretary Kazi Anwar Hossain and BTRC Vice Chairman Abu Bakar Siddique will be present as special guests.

A grand feast will be arranged for invited guests after the closing ceremony.

University students will showcase about 25 innovative projects based on robotics and IoT at the expo. There will also be an experience zone where visitors can see and experience these technologies directly. Various IT and telecommunications companies will display their services, software, hardware and network products.

The exhibition will feature 10 pavilions, 35 mini pavilions and 20 stalls.
