BTRC has approved a new tariff structure to make high-speed broadband services more accessible in the country. In line with the government's 'One Nation, One Rate' policy, Internet Service Provider (ISP) Sam Online will now be able to offer internet services at a minimum of 30 Mbps for 500 taka and a maximum of 250 Mbps for 3000 taka.

The new tariff plan was finalized in a notification issued by the BTRC's Systems and Services Division on Monday (April 27).

The BTRC said that the new rates have been determined based on proportional adjustment of bandwidth from 5 Mbps to 40 Mbps. Sam Online has been allowed to launch various packages from 30 Mbps to 250 Mbps, subject to maintaining the quality of service at the customer level.

According to the new price list, the maximum monthly bill for 30 Mbps internet speed has been set at 500 taka, for 100 Mbps speed at 1000 taka and for 250 Mbps speed at 3000 taka.

In addition, the maximum shared contention ratio has been set at 1:8 for all connections. The BTRC said that this unified price list has been implemented with the aim of ensuring better customer experience and equitable distribution of internet.
