Aminul Islam Bulbul, the current president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has announced his intention to run for a director position in the upcoming BCB elections scheduled for early October.

During an inspection of Sylhet District Stadium on Tuesday, Bulbul spoke with journalists, assessing the stadium’s infrastructure and facilities. He stated, “I want to contribute more to the development of cricket in the country. Insha’Allah, the elections will be held in the first week of October. This election is not for the president’s post but for the board of directors. That is my primary focus, and I will strive to secure a position there.”

Before joining the BCB, Bulbul had an extensive career at the International Cricket Council (ICC), where he gained valuable international experience. Initially appointed on a temporary basis, Bulbul’s commitment to Bangladesh cricket has grown over time.

On August 28, he shared, “I took on this responsibility suddenly. I had a permanent position at the ICC, but I left it all to serve my country. I worked as long as I could there, but eventually, I had no further role.”

The BCB’s board of directors election is expected to be held on October 4.
