Bus set on fire again in capital

Another incident of a bus being set on fire has occurred in the capital. On Tuesday, November 11, at around 6 pm, miscreants set fire to a Malancha Transport bus at Sutrapur. A unit of the Fire Service quickly brought the fire under control at the scene.

Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the Fire Service, said that their unit controlled the fire in the Malancha Transport bus at Sutrapur.

Earlier, on Monday night, two Raida Transport buses and one Capital Transport bus were set on fire in Jatrabari, Uttara, and Bashundhara areas of the capital. In addition, on Monday at around 7.30 pm, a moving bus of Shanta Mariam University in front of Labaid Hospital in Dhanmondi was set on fire, which was brought under control by two units of the Fire Service. Previously, two buses had also been set on fire in Merul Badda and Shahjadpur areas.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, at a press conference at the DMP Media Centre on ‘the law and order situation in Dhaka city’, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali said that nine vehicles have been set on fire in the capital over the past two days. He said that 17 cases have been filed in connection with the cocktail blast incidents, and in the past 24 hours, 50 people have been arrested on allegations of involvement in these incidents.
