Co-hosts Canada earned their first-ever FIFA World Cup point after playing to a dramatic 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium, though the hosts will rue missed opportunities to take all three points.

Cyle Larin came off the bench to score a vital 77th-minute equalizer, canceling out Jovo Lukić's first-half header for Bosnia. Despite dominating possession and launching a flurry of late attacks—including a golden stoppage-time chance for Larin that was denied by a desperate Bosnian block—Jesse Marsch’s side was unable to find a winning breakthrough.

The historic fixture marked the first time a senior men's World Cup match has been played on Canadian soil. While Canada remains winless in tournament history, the tournament's newly expanded 48-team format keeps their knockout-stage hopes very much alive.

Under the revised structure, which features 12 groups of four, the top two teams from each group alongside the eight best third-placed finishers will advance to the Round of 32, leaving both Canada and Bosnia with a clear path forward heading into their remaining Group B matches against Qatar and Switzerland.
