Care, not costly gifts, makes a man attractive: Jennifer Lopez
Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez believes a man's true appeal lies not in luxury watches, expensive cars or private jets, but in the small, thoughtful acts of care he shows every day.
Speaking candidly about relationships while performing at a special Dolce & Gabbana event in Taormina, Sicily, the singer-actress emphasized the importance of independence, mutual respect and shared responsibility in a relationship.
The event was held ahead of her 57th birthday on July 24.
Lopez said she has no interest in a man's wealth or extravagant gifts, adding that women who are financially independent do not need to rely on anyone else. However, she noted that gifts given out of genuine love are always meaningful.
Explaining what she finds truly attractive in a partner, Lopez said it is kindness and consideration rather than material possessions.
"You know what really makes a man sexy? It's not a watch, it's not a car, and it's definitely not a private jet. Those things are nice, but what's really attractive is when he makes his bed in the morning or washes the dishes when I'm tired at night," she said.
She added that such gestures stand out because women often shoulder most of the household responsibilities, making a caring and supportive partner far more appealing than someone defined by wealth.
Lopez has been married four times. Her most recent marriage to actor Ben Affleck, whom she married in 2022, officially ended in divorce in January 2025.
