ChatGPT and Gemini down, Grok and Claude also face disruptions

Several major artificial intelligence platforms experienced service disruptions across different parts of the world, with users reporting problems accessing ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Claude.

The issues began to emerge after 6 p.m. local time, with users in several countries reporting difficulties while trying to access or use the AI services. In India, users in multiple locations reportedly faced problems with both ChatGPT and Gemini.

According to outage-monitoring website Downdetector, reports of problems involving ChatGPT, Grok, Claude and Gemini began increasing after 6 p.m. Users reported difficulties accessing the platforms, sending requests and receiving responses from the services.

The disruption was not limited to India. Users in the United Arab Emirates also reported problems with Google’s Gemini. Similar complaints emerged from several other countries across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

According to a report by Gulf News, users in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, Jordan, Greece, Singapore, Vietnam and Switzerland also reported problems with Gemini.

The exact cause of the disruptions was not immediately clear. The simultaneous problems reported across several widely used AI platforms led to uncertainty among users, although the severity of the disruption appeared to vary by country and service.

As of Thursday evening, Google had not issued an official statement explaining the reported Gemini disruption. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, and the company responsible for Grok had also not immediately provided details about the reported problems.

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, had likewise not released a detailed explanation of the reported disruption at the time.

The reported outages come as reliance on AI platforms continues to grow worldwide. ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Claude are increasingly used for a wide range of activities, including education, research, software development, business operations, content creation and everyday tasks.

As a result, even temporary disruptions can affect a large number of users and businesses that depend on these services.
