ChatGPT remains the most widely used artificial intelligence-powered chatbot in Bangladesh, accounting for the largest share of the country’s AI chatbot market.

According to data published by AI News BD, ChatGPT held a 76.91 percent share of Bangladesh’s AI chatbot market in August.

The report, based on data from StatCounter Global Stats, showed that Google’s Gemini ranked second, with an 18.84 percent market share. It was followed by Perplexity, Grok and Copilot, with market shares of 1.95 percent, 1.15 percent and 1.10 percent, respectively.

An analysis of the data published by AI News BD shows that Bangladesh’s AI chatbot market has undergone significant changes over the past year. In August 2025, ChatGPT held an 88.49 percent market share. A year later, that figure had fallen to 76.91 percent—a decline of 11.58 percentage points.

At the same time, Gemini’s share increased significantly. In August 2025, Gemini accounted for just 3.62 percent of Bangladesh’s AI chatbot market. Within a year, its share rose to 18.84 percent, an increase of 15.22 percentage points.
Despite the shift, ChatGPT’s dominance in the market remains clear.

According to the August figures, ChatGPT and Gemini together accounted for nearly 96 percent of Bangladesh’s AI chatbot market, leaving the other chatbots with comparatively small shares.

StatCounter Global Stats’ figures are based on web referral traffic.

Therefore, the data does not directly represent the number of users or the total volume of chatbot usage. Rather, it reflects the market share of referral traffic directed to the respective chatbot websites.

The figures indicate that while ChatGPT remains the most influential AI chatbot in Bangladesh, Google’s Gemini is rapidly expanding its market share. If the trend of the past year continues, competition in Bangladesh’s AI chatbot market could intensify further.
