Chattogram hosts grandiose Mother Teresa Award 2026

Chattogram’s Engineer Institute hosted the Mother Teresa Award 2026, recognising individuals and organisations for their contributions to humanitarian work and social service.

The event was jointly organised by the Bangladesh Green Leaf Cultural Forum (BGCF) and the Mother Teresa Foundation.

The ceremony, anchored by Taslim Hasan Hridoy and Jerin Suba, featured A R M, chairman of Amader Alokito Shomaj, as the chief speaker. Special guests included actress Renu Rozina, singer Robi Chowdhury, and humanitarian police officer Md. Shawkat Hossain PPM, among other social and cultural personalities.

The programme opened with Quran recitation, a one-minute silence in memory of martyrs, and the national anthem. Awards were presented across 35 categories, with special honours given to Kamrul Kayes Chowdhury’s mother as “Rotnogorva Ma,” while Renu Rozina, Robi Chowdhury, Shawkat Hossain PPM, Zahidul Karim Kochi, Javed Nasim, and the Phuler Hasi Foundation (Best Humanitarian Organisation) were also recognised.

The ceremony concluded with a cultural programme organised under the direction of Alamgir Hossain Alor.

Renu Rozina said, “A society that does not value talent cannot nurture it. I am delighted to be here.” Taslim Hasan Hridoy added that the award aims to continually recognise and encourage good work in society.

The Mother Teresa Award 2026 highlighted humanitarian and social values, celebrating exemplary contributions across Bangladesh.
