Chief Adviser condoles loss of life in Sri Lanka due to Cyclone Ditwa

Chief Adviser to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus, has expressed deep sorrow over the massive loss of life and destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwa in Sri Lanka.

In a message sent to the President of Sri Lanka on Friday, he expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

This was announced in a message received from the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on Monday.

The Chief Adviser said that this is one of the worst weather-related disasters to hit Sri Lanka in recent years. The people and government of Bangladesh stand by Sri Lanka in the suffering of the bereaved families.

Professor Yunus mentioned in the message that the people of Bangladesh stand by the friendly people of Sri Lanka in this difficult time.

At the same time, he said that Bangladesh is ready to provide any kind of assistance, including flood management, search and rescue operations, medical assistance, and other humanitarian assistance, if needed.
