CID fame Dinesh Phadnis dies

Dinesh Phadnis, who played Fredricks in the popular crime show CID, passed away at the age of 57 on Monday night due to complications from multi-organ failure. The actor, who was battling for life, breathed his last around midnight.

He was admitted to Tunga Hospital in Mumbai. Dinesh Phadnis's CID co-actor Dayanand Shetty, who played Daya on the show, confirmed the news. He said, “Dinesh breathed his last at 12.08 am.”

Shetty shared that Dinesh died of multiple organ failure. He said, “There were a lot of complications and he was removed from the ventilator last night.” As per reports, the entire cast of CID visited Dinesh’s home to pay their last respect.

Dinesh became a household name after playing the role of Fredericks in the long-running TV show CID, which first aired in 1998 and ran for twenty years on Sony TV. He also made an appearance on the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and played supporting roles in movies like Super 30 and Sarfarosh.
