CJP founder Abhijit Dipke diagnosed with typhoid, vows protest will continue

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has been diagnosed with typhoid but has vowed that the party's nationwide movement demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will continue despite his illness.

In a video message shared on social media on Saturday (July 25), Dipke said medical tests confirmed he was suffering from typhoid after experiencing health complications over the past few days. He is currently undergoing treatment and receiving daily intravenous (IV) medication.

"Many of you know that I have been unwell for the past few days. My medical reports confirmed typhoid. I am under treatment and receiving IV drips every day," Dipke said in the video.

Despite his condition, he thanked supporters for continuing the movement peacefully across the country and urged them to remain united.

Expressing confidence in the campaign, Dipke said the growing nationwide participation had strengthened the movement and reiterated that sustained peaceful protests would eventually compel the government to accept the demand for the education minister's resignation.

The CJP launched its protest following allegations of irregularities and question paper leaks in competitive examinations. The party's key demands include ensuring accountability in the examination system, introducing reforms to recruitment and admission tests, and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The movement has drawn support from several prominent figures, including social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the protest on June 28 and observed a 26-day hunger strike before ending it after receiving written assurances from the central government.

Although the government has pledged not to take legal action against peaceful protesters, assured parliamentary discussions on examination reforms and accountability, and promised measures for families affected by the question paper leak controversy, the CJP has maintained that demonstrations at Jantar Mantar will continue until the education minister steps down.
