Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the second round of the Club World Cup, securing a spot in the quarter-finals.

The match, held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, USA, on Sunday (June 29), saw PSG dominate from the outset, with Messi facing his former club for the first time since leaving Paris for Miami almost two years ago.

The French giants were in control throughout the match, dominating possession and attacking from the very start. Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves opened the scoring early in the 6th minute, finding the back of the net with a superb strike from Achraf Hakimi's cross. The pressure on Miami's defense only intensified as the first half progressed.

Neves doubled PSG's lead in the 39th minute, firing a low shot past Miami's goalkeeper. Just before halftime, an own goal in the 44th minute made it 3-0, and in the final minute of the first half (45'), Hakimi tapped in a rebound to make it 4-0.

Despite a determined effort in the second half, Messi and his teammates could not break down PSG's defense. While Messi was involved in some build-up play in midfield, his influence was limited, and Inter Miami struggled to create meaningful chances. Substitutions, including Ousmane Dembélé's introduction, did little to change the outcome.

With this dominant win, PSG advances to the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup, where they will face either Brazil's Flamengo or German giants Bayern Munich.
