Cockroach Party founder Abhijit informs of illness

Abhijit Deepak, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, has fallen ill during the ongoing movement. However, after a few hours of rest, he has announced that he will return to the protest site at Delhi's Jantar Mantar by Thursday evening.

In a post on social media platform X on Thursday, Abhijit Deepak said he had been suffering from high fever and body aches for the past few days. He has been taking painkillers to manage the situation.

In his post, he wrote, "I have been suffering from high fever and body aches for the past few days. I am taking painkillers to get through the day. I am sorry if I am not seen at Jantar Mantar today. I need a few hours of rest to recover. I will return to the protest site by evening."

Abhijit Deepak and his supporters remain firm in their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Earlier on Wednesday night, police used baton charges and fired tear gas shells at the Jantar Mantar protest site. Police claimed that stones and bottles were thrown at them when they tried to stop protesters advancing towards Parliament Street.

However, after the incident, Abhijit Deepak accused police of excessive force and brutality. On Thursday morning, he strongly criticised the police's treatment of the protesters.
