College girl gang-raped in moving bus, 3 arrested

A college girl was allegedly gang-raped in a moving bus on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. Police have arrested three persons, including the bus driver and helper, in this incident.

They were arrested from the Kortia underpass area of ​​the Dhaka-Tangail highway on Thursday (January 15) afternoon.

The arrestees are-- bus driver Md. Altaf, 25, helper Md. Sagar, 24, and the driver's assistant Md. Rabbi, 21.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Elenga Highway Police Station Mohammad Sharif said that a college girl boarded the Savar Paribahan from Radio Colony in Dhaka to go to Ashulia around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. There were two passengers on the bus at the time. After the passenger got off, the accused forcibly detained the college girl and snatched her gold ornaments, money and mobile phone. Later, they moved the bus around to different places, raping the girl in turn and recording the video.

When the bus stopped suspiciously on the highway in the Kortia underpass area of ​​the Dhaka-bound lane of the Dhaka-Tangail highway, the highway police intercepted the bus and learned about the incident during interrogation.
