Controversy surrounds ‘Toxic’ teaser, Yash–Nayanthara–Kiara in focus
The new teaser for the much-awaited film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ starring Kannada superstar Yash has sparked widespread discussion on social media. The teaser titled ‘Ladies and Ladies’ has generated excitement among viewers while also triggering controversy over one of its dialogues.
At the beginning of the teaser, a warning is given that it is not suitable for children. A female voice is then heard in the background saying, “Love turns women into monsters.” This line has drawn various reactions since its release.
The teaser features brief appearances by popular actresses Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi from Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Romantic scenes between Yash and Kiara Advani have also caught the audience’s attention.
However, some critics claim that in trying to portray women powerfully, the film appears to depict male characters negatively. Many viewers have also praised the teaser, saying its mysterious presentation and visuals make it more appealing.
There is also discussion about the release date. ‘Toxic’ is scheduled for worldwide release on August 26. On the same day, Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Itha’ and Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Van’ are also set to release, creating the possibility of a three-way box office clash.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions, this Kannada and English-language film has now generated anticipation for how it will perform with audiences and at the box office after its release.
