Cricketer Ebadot Hossain’s father passes away
Bangladesh national team pacer Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury's father, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, passed away on Thursday evening (September 18). He was 78.
Nizam Uddin, a retired member of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
According to family sources, he suddenly fell ill at home and was rushed to Sylhet Oasis Hospital around 7:00pm, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The family hails from Kathaltoli village in Dakshinbhag Uttar Union under Barolekha Upazila in Moulvibazar, though they currently reside in Rukanpur village of the same union.
Ebadot confirmed his father had been receiving regular treatment and had recently been discharged in stable condition.
He said, “I was taking my father to a doctor in Sylhet on Thursday evening when he suddenly fell seriously ill. I never imagined he would die on the way. After reaching the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead. I request everyone to keep him in their prayers. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdous.”
The funeral prayer will be held at 11am on today at the Kathaltoli Eidgah premises. Later, he will be laid to rest at the family graveyard.
