Cristiano Ronaldo enters showbiz with acting and producer debut

After conquering football, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to embark on a new journey in the entertainment industry. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner will make his debut as an executive producer and appear in a special guest role in the upcoming television drama series, Day Ones.

Ronaldo is joined on the project by Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry, marking a rare collaboration between two former on-field rivals. The series is being produced by UR-Marv Studios, the joint venture founded by Ronaldo and acclaimed Hollywood filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, best known for directing the Kingsman franchise.

Speaking about the project, Ronaldo described it as "a new chapter" in his career.

"This is a new chapter in my life. I'm excited to explore new opportunities in the entertainment world alongside football," Ronaldo said.

Matthew Vaughn praised the Portuguese icon's storytelling potential beyond the pitch.

"Cristiano has created incredible stories throughout his football career. Now, it's exciting to have him helping tell new ones on screen," Vaughn said.

According to The Sun, Day Ones will explore the unseen world of modern professional football, focusing on players' lives, football agents, the sport's financial landscape and the intense competition behind the scenes. The concept was created by renowned football agent Darren Dein.

British actor Damian Lewis, best known for Homeland and Billions, will lead the cast as central character Stanley Dalton.

Filming has already begun at The Hive Stadium, home of Barnet FC in northwest London.

Entertainment industry reports suggest the involvement of Ronaldo and Henry has already sparked strong competition among leading global streaming platforms for the series' broadcasting rights, underlining the project's growing commercial appeal.
