Cucurella keeps his word, gets coach's tattoo after World Cup win

Spain defender Marc Cucurella has kept his promise made before the final to get his national team coach's tattoo on his body if they won the World Cup. He shared a video of the moment on social media on Tuesday.

Spain became world champions for the second time after beating Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19. After the match, coach Luis de la Fuente jokingly reminded Cucurella of his promise during a press conference .

In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, Cucurella is seen getting a portrait of de la Fuente holding the World Cup trophy in his left hand tattooed on himself. He captioned the video, "Promise kept" .

Before the final, the Spanish full-back had also announced he would retire from international football if Spain won the World Cup. However, while he has fulfilled the tattoo promise, the 28-year-old footballer, who recently joined Real Madrid from Chelsea, has not yet commented on his retirement plans.
