Customer receives mobile phone 16 years after ordering
In an incredible turn of events, a customer has finally received a mobile phone nearly 16 years after placing the order. The incident took place in Tripoli, the capital of Libya.
According to reports, a mobile phone shop owner in Tripoli had ordered several Nokia phones back in 2010. These were popular and expensive bar-type models at the time, including sets from the ‘Music Edition’ and ‘Phone Communicator’ series. However, shortly after the order, the civil war in Libya broke out in 2011, preventing the shipment from reaching the country.
Due to the war and years of instability, the shipment remained stuck in a warehouse. Both the sender and the recipient were in Tripoli, but the conflict delayed delivery. Nearly 16 years later, the shipment was finally recovered.
A video capturing the moment the shop owner opened the packages was shared on social media. In the clip, he is seen laughing and saying, “Are these phones or historical artifacts?” The video has since gone viral.
Netizens have remarked that in this age of rapid technological change, once-modern and expensive phones have now essentially become pieces of history.
