The Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) has expressed deep concern over the recent "unwanted" and "unfortunate" incident involving former national team captain Khaled Mashud Pilot at a recent press conference. The organisation detailed its stance in a press release sent to the media on Wednesday.

CWAB issued an official reaction after discussions regarding the incident began in cricket circles. The release, signed by the organisation's president, Mohammad Mithun, stated that such an incident is undesirable in any way. It noted that it is particularly regrettable in an environment where mutual respect, restraint, and professionalism are of utmost importance.

CWAB believes that differences of opinion in cricket-related discussions are normal. However, it emphasised maintaining decency and professional conduct even when expressing dissenting views. The release stated that difficult questions or disagreements may exist, but it is everyone's duty to maintain restraint, mutual respect, and professional etiquette while expressing and handling them.

The organisation further mentioned that the respect of every party involved with cricket is equally important. It was also stated that the dignity of coaches, board officials, fans, and sports journalists all needs to be preserved.

Hoping such incidents do not recur in the future, CWAB expressed hope that all concerned will learn from this event. It also stressed the importance of fostering a more responsible and positive environment in discussions surrounding Bangladesh cricket. The organisation believes that the country's cricket will only progress through mutual understanding and cooperation.
