Bangladesh has sought details from Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador Abdullah bin Zafar H. Bin Abiar regarding the two Bangladeshis whose death penalty was executed in Makkah.

Secretary (Bilateral Affairs) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Md. Nazrul Islam spoke with the Saudi ambassador regarding this matter at the state guest house Padma at noon on Sunday (October 18).

The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the matter and informed that discussion was held on the overall situation in the meeting.

Last Wednesday the news of the execution of the death penalty of two Bangladeshis on the allegation of ‘immoral acts’ in a mosque area of Makkah was published in several media of the Middle East including Saudi Arabia. However it has been claimed that Bangladesh was not informed anything in this regard before the execution of the death penalty.

After that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacted the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka to know the details about the matter. Related sources have informed that a diplomatic note has been given to the Saudi ambassador to know about the two Bangladeshis whose death penalty was executed.
