Police have recovered the decomposed bodies of a man and a woman from a flat in North Badda, Dhaka. It is yet to be confirmed whether the couple were murdered or took their own lives.

After the inquest, the bodies were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for post-mortem examination.

Speaking to the media around 4:30pm on Sunday, November 2, Badda Police Station OC Habibur Rahman said the bodies were recovered from a flat on Road No. 3, Lane No. 2, Purbanchal area of North Badda. The deceased have been identified as Saiful Islam, 30, who worked as the caretaker of the building, and his wife Shakila, who worked as a cook in the same building.

“Initial suspicion suggests that the incident might have occurred after October 25,” OC Habibur Rahman said.

He added that locals informed the police after detecting a foul odour emanating from the flat earlier in the day. Later, police recovered the two decomposed bodies and sent them to DMCH for autopsy. A case is being filed over the incident, he confirmed.
