Deepika accused of leaking film details by Sandeep Reddy Vanga's brother

Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have been at the centre of controversy surrounding the film 'Spirit'. The old dispute over Deepika's departure from the project has resurfaced, with Pranay Reddy Vanga, brother of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, now accusing her of leaking information.

Pranay claimed that disagreements had arisen with Deepika over remuneration and profit-sharing beyond the eight-hour work schedule.

In a recent interview, Pranay spoke about the reasons for Deepika's exit from 'Spirit'. He claimed the decision not to proceed with the actress was made after discussions on remuneration, working hours and other project-related matters.

Pranay alleged that Deepika had demanded not only higher pay but also a share of the film's profits. He said she had sought 10 percent of the profits, after which things spiralled out of control. He clarified that while she could make such a demand, the budget and financial viability had to work for them as well, which they felt was not possible, leading them to explore other options.

He further claimed that once they started looking for alternatives, Deepika began leaking information. The team had been discussing the film's story and her character with her for over a year, and some of the details from those discussions later became public, which upset them.

Pranay made it clear that the dispute was not solely about an additional 5-6 crore rupees in remuneration. After Deepika's exit, Tripti Dimri was announced as her replacement, which further fuelled the controversy.

Following reports that the film would feature 'A-rated action', Sandeep Reddy Vanga had expressed anger on social media platform X over allegations of the film's story being leaked.

'Spirit', starring Prabhas and Tripti Dimri, is scheduled for release in March 2027.
