Delhi gave positive response on push-in, visa issues: State minister

India has responded positively on issues related to push-in and visas, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed has said. She made the remark while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, June 1.

"Following the West Bengal assembly election, New Delhi has given positive responses on various issues including push-in. Dhaka now wants to see their implementation," the state minister said.

She said BGB will remain strict to prevent cross-border push-ins and the government has sent a letter to India in this regard.

Regarding India's condolence message on the death of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Shama Obaed described it as a positive diplomatic step, though she noted it should have come earlier.

On the prime minister's foreign tours, she said plans are in place for the prime minister to visit India and other SAARC member countries.
